Your Round Table

Ralph Zuranski has an interview with Sharif Khan at In Search of Heroes. In it, Sharif explains that he was inspired by reading Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich”. The book talks about creating a team of heroes in your mind to help you succeed. Sharif calls his team his Council of Light. It’s a round table that helps him when he needs to make decisions.
I’ve talked about using heroes to help you make decisions in your life, so actually creating a round table of heroes that you think about and dream about is something I think is a must. Sharif uses Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Gandhi, Sinatra, Jodie Foster, Oprah, Einstein and others from time to time.
My Round Table would include Megan Langdon (for supportive advice), Mark Krist (to help me keep calm), Neil Gaiman (for creative help), Indiana Jones (for practical advice), Spiderman (to remind me that with power, comes responsibility), and Aung San Suu Kyi (to remind me of the importance of selflessness). They’d be full time members. Invitations would be sent out in times of need and often are.
