The Hero Interviews – Seth Godin

Seth Godin is a marketing guru, responsible for many top-selling books and the author of a highly popular blog.  His writing has inspired many and he’s a hero to many small business owners around the world.  I saw him speak earlier this year in Ann Arbor and am proud to have him included in the Interview Series.  His answer is predictably short and to the point, answering both questions in one answer.

Who was your hero as a child and why?  Who is your hero now and why?

That’s easy.

My hero then and now is my dad. Whenever I do something I’m proud of, it’s because it reminds me of him. His kindness, his drive, his willingness to challenge the status quo, his patience.

My teachers: Pema, Zig, Tom Peters… they helped amplify what my dad taught me.
