Seth Godin’s Meatball Sundae
Seth Godin is releasing another book, “Meatball Sundae“, aiming to revolutionize marketing. Again. The meatball sundae term describes the practice of trying to add new marketing techniques onto old styles and the unappetizing dish it creates. Much of this comes from people not understanding what the new marketing is all about. They might realize they need Google to be able to find them and that blogs help, but they have no idea why or how to use them.
I was convinced to create a tri-fold brochure when I started this business. It didn’t work. It hasn’t worked once, while everything else I’ve done has. The tri-fold is a meatball while I’ve been trying to use sundae toppings as much as possible. Anyone who knows me would not be surprised if I was talking about my dinner habits, but I’m talking marketing.
I’m attending an invitation-only webcast by Seth on Thursday the 1st that promises to introduce the 14 trends as an appetizer to the book. I’m not sure what an appetizer to a meatball sundae would be – maybe Tums.
