Hero #6 of 30 – Billy Bragg
Posted by Matt Langdon on November 6, 2007
I found a Billy Bragg CD in a bargain bin about ten years ago. I bought it because he’d sung a duet with my favourite Australian band. It didn’t take long for him to become a new favourite. He became a soundtrack to my life as I listened to his CDs over and over while playing soccer games on the Playstation with my Irish friend, Ciaron. The songs “Valentine’s Day is Over”, “The Saturday Boy”, “Tank Park Salute”, and “Waiting For a New England” provided us with quotes for years. And to be honest, we still quote them when we talk every few months now. Billy taught me who St. Swithin was and that there is power in a union.
Lydia suggested him as a hero and I have to agree. Click to read his profile.
