Action Without Character

Will Smith has a new movie coming out called Hancock.  You can see the trailer below.  The premise is that Hancock is a superhero with a pretty poor attitude.  Spiderman’s old line of “with great power comes great responsibility” is clearly being ignored.  Hancock seems to create as many problems as he solves, particularly with “collateral damage”.  I have hope that the movie brings home the message that a superhero is not a hero without character.  A superhero needs caring and integrity to pair with their abilities or they’re not worth reading about.
