Two Hero Workshops in One Day

I was at Scotch Elementary today talking to Mr. Wagner’s 4th grade class. Steve was at Lakes Elementary finishing up his three-part Hero Workshop. The 4th graders were an amazing audience – very polite. They were also phenomenal public speakers. You can see all the photos if you click here.

One of Steve’s kindergarten students had written a story for him when he arrived. He’s been a big hit. After all of the students were inducted into the Young Heroes Club, Steve was presented with his story. You can see that if you click here. (In case you don’t speak fluent kindergarten it says, “Mr. Kessel is coming today. I am excited!”) Also, Steve is the one in the picture hiding behind the puppet theatre apparently wearing a dress.

To be fair, I asked her what was going on the in the picture and she said that “Mrs. Langdon was in the back watching.”

Ha ha. So, I’m not in a dress.

Steve that is not what you told me, you said the kindergartner said the following “mr steve you would look really pretty in a dress so i put you in one…”clearly the kindergartner is very perceptive or knows something we don’t….

Thank you guys for teaching heroism, and especially for teaching it to the kids! As someone who works a lot with those struggling with abusive relationships and situations, I KNOW… the seeds you are all planting now can have some major, life-changing and life-saving fruit in the future. Keep up the great work!

Psssttt…. Hey Adam, you can be a hero and a hero-mentor right now, right where you are. All you have to do is consciously live your own life as a hero; it’ll rub off! :-D
